We directed the powerful story of Betty Kilby Baldwin as she returns to the place where she broke the race barrier of Virginia’s segregated school system. She also connects with her white cousin, Pheobe Kilby, with whom she co-authored the book “Cousins” about their story of realizing they were both descendants from Pheobe Kilby’s slave-owning ancestors in Rappahannock Country.
